The Senate Republican Majority has always been the leader when it comes to helping business in New York State. Over the past 11 years, we have initiated billions of dollars in business tax cuts; We have spurred billions of dollars in investment in high tech, biotech and manufacturing businesses; and we have fought to enact laws to small businesses grow and help large businesses succeed and become more competitive.
Just this past year, the Senate successfully fought to eliminate the single sales factor, a major tax reduction victory for businesses in New York State. We expanded the Empire Zone program, cut business and personal taxes by $155 million, enacted new high tech and biotech tax incentives and fought for a takeover of local Medicaid expenses to ease the burden of local property taxes.
The Senate Republican Majority have worked hard to make New York business-friendly and we will build on our record in the coming year by addressing important issues, such as workers compensation reform, and fighting for additional tax relief and incentives to help businesses prosper and grow in the Empire State.
